Handmade Chain Necklace

I've just finished quite a big project at work and so I felt as though I deserved a treat. So I made myself my very first chain necklace. I did base the chain on a pattern in a great book called French Inspired Jewellery by Kaari Meng, but I used my own choice of beads and I also altered the pattern too.

Making the chain links was actually pretty easy as long as you have the right tools. Once I got into a rhythm I managed to complete the necklace in just one evening. Now that I have made one, I think I it will be good to expand my skills and try to make some more complicated jewellery in the future.  

Summer Necklace

Many years ago I used to dabble in making jewellery. I've recently re-discovered this artform and got inspired to make a long necklace to match a top I have. I took inspiration from the colours in the top and have been gathering different types of beads to create this mixed bead necklace. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! I could get addicted to this hobby I think, and I have plenty more beads to make something else....watch this space!
