Critique:
A cracking walk, quite long, but all on flat pathways which used to be the railway line between Callendar and Oban. If you've never been to Callander before, it's well worth a visit, and was perfect on an Easter Sunday before the real tourist season starts.
The walk instructions are very simple and easy to follow, to be honest, you can't go too much wrong when you are essentially following a straight path.
Quite a lot to see, including the remains of a Roman Fort. The Falls themselves are not traditional waterfalls, basically they are rapids which course round a large, jagged rock. The Falls are not visible from the pathway, so listen out for the roar of the water and then make your way down the small pathway to the right in order to see them... if you are feeling adventurous, you can get closer to the falls by following some of the small pathways through the woods.
On your return to Callander, I recommend a cream tea at 'The Old Bank' cafe and restaurant. It's one of the few places which stay open after 5pm (open to 6.30pm) and the scones are amazing!
