Necklace Tree

 

A slight departure craft-wise, but I will probably be posting more 'non-stamping/non paper craft' projects in the future as I have a number of them planned. This is because I have been doing a lot of work on the house just now in order to make it look tidier.

Anyway, how did I make this necklace tree?

First take one, slightly battered, wire Easter Egg Tree. (I bought mine at a reduced price from The Pier in the UK)

          

Remove any adornment on the top (my flower just slid out, but if yours is more firmly attached, try cutting it off using wire cutters and then sand the cut smooth so it doesn't cause injury)

Next, sponge DecoArt Champagne Gold metallic Acrylic paint all over the tree and leave to dry. Don't worry if some of the white of the tree still shows as it adds to the effect. Next sponge DecoArt Glorious Gold metallic Acrylic paint all over the the tree and leave to dry again.

Once dry, arrange the branches so that they are spaced prettily and dress your tree with necklaces and bracelets. Hang your bracelets on the lowest branches for balance. This is a great idea if you struggle for space and your jewellery has a habit of getting tangles!

Kristy, I love this! I created something similar a while ago from an ornament branch I picked up from a garden center on clearance! Yours is gorgeous!
